1. He Molested, Raped and Murdered Young and Teenage Girls
It is believed that Christopher Wilder raped two girls who were only 10 and 12 years old in Florida; this was in 1983. While this hasn’t been proved substantively, it is well-known that he was a sexual predator who had several young girls as his victims. When he was around 21, in January 1963, he faced the law for gang-raping a 13-year old girl. For this, he was sentenced to probation. Much later in 1980, he would be charged for forcing two 15-year-old girls to pose nude. At some point, he abducted, assaulted and kept 16-year-old Tina Risico alive to help him lure other victims.
2. Wilder Lured His Victims by Offering Modeling Contracts
This is why the Australian-American is known as the Beauty Queen Killer. Records have it that he abducted and raped no fewer than 12 women. He killed at least eight of these women and lured a good number of his victims by offering to help them become models. Christopher had an interest in photography so he often succeeded in earning the attention of young girls and women interested in building a career in the field.
3. Christopher Wilder’s Wife Left Him
Regardless of the monstrous things he did to women, Christopher Wilder found love in the arms of one, enough to convince her to marry him in 1968. However, his true self soon emerged to ruin the union. His creeped-out wife deserted him just a week after their wedding. The unidentified woman is the only one legally linked to the serial killer, the rest were victims he molested, raped or killed. A year after his marriage ended, he immigrated to the United States, South Florida to be precise.
4. He Was Successful in Real Estate
Upon relocating to the States, Wilder settled in an upscale apartment located in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was able to afford it through his work on construction projects as an electrician. He also invested heavily in real estate which helped to grow his fortune to the tune of $7 million which he left behind after his demise. During this time, Wilder started fueling his interest in photography which aided him in most of the crimes he committed. He also made money as a race car driver.

Refusing his offer to make you a popular model wasn’t enough to deter an attack from Christopher Wilder. Some of his victims rejected his offer but he still attacked them, including 19-year-old Linda Grover who lived to tell the story of her encounter with the Beauty Queen Killer. Her tale offered insight into how Wilder tortured his victims.
He attacked her in a mall’s parking lot in Tallahassee, Florida after she rejected his offer. He got her bound thereafter and drove off to a motel with Linda in the trunk of his car. He repeatedly raped her, smeared her eyelids with superglue, and electrocuted her through copper wires he connected to her feet. She escaped being murdered by the serial killer as Wilder fled after she attracted the attention of other guests at the motel.
6. Christopher Wilder Was Probably Motivated by a Book
John Fowles was a popular English novelist and it is believed that his 1963 thriller novel titled The Collector was a source of inspiration for Christopher Wilder. After his death, the book was among the thing found in his possession. The book is often associated with serial killers, it revolves around a psychotic fellow who kidnaps a female art student and holds her captive.
7. Electroshock Therapy Worsened His Violent Sexual Tendencies
Electroshock therapy is a psychiatric treatment that revolves around inducing seizures electrically to provide some relief for patients with mental disorders. It is said that Christopher Wilder received this treatment after his gang-raping of a 13-year-old. While it is believed that this aggravated his tendencies for violent sexual crimes, and made him nurture fantasies of electrocuting his victims while raping them, it was reported in some quarters that he never received electroshock therapy.
8. He Made FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List
With several cases of good-looking young women forcibly abducted by someone who claims to be a professional photographer and often described to match Christopher Wilder’s physical looks, the FBI identified the Beauty Queen Killer and launched a manhunt for him. With that, Wilder made the Bureau’s list of ten most wanted fugitives.
9. The Beauty Queen Killer Was Never Jailed
Wilder committed a lot of sexual crimes and was dragged to court on several occasions and even convicted. But somehow, he never got to spend time behind bars for any of the crimes.
10. Someone Requested for His Brain after His Death
Listed as one of the most wanted fugitives by the FBI, Christopher Wilder was able to evade arrest for a while. Fate caught up with him on the 13th of April 1984 when two state troopers recognized him in Colebrook, New Hampshire. He reached for his gun, a scuffle ensued and two shots were fired in the process: the second shattered his heart and killed him right away.
Following his death, someone called the New Hampshire pathologist claiming to represent Harvard University. The man said the Beauty Queen Killer’s brain is needed for a study that would help determine what inspired the murders he committed. Harvard’s medical school would later deny making the request.
