The Michigan native, Brooke Lajiness was imprisoned for 57 months after she confessed to sexual misconduct sex with two boys between ages 14 and 15. She was accused of 13 counts of criminal sexual conduct in Lima Township, Michigan.
Brooke Lajiness allegedly lured her victims by sending them her nude pictures on Snapchat. With no prior criminal record, the mother of two was assumed to be having psychological issues that might have played a major factor in what she did.
While nothing has been heard of the mother but it seems her husband has been raising their two children alone.
Who is Brooke Lajiness?
Brooke Lajiness was born on January 6, 1979, to her parents, Debbie and Chuck Sedlar. She was raised with her siblings in Erie, Michigan. Brooke attended Mason Senior High School in Erie.
She also studied Biology at the University of Las Vegas. There are reports that she earned her Esthetician License from the attended the Michigan College of Beauty. Upon graduating from the beauty school, she worked at Biundo’s Salon and Spa.
She Married David Lajiness Jr., in 2000
According to reports, former Brooke Sedlar married David Lajiness junior in 2000. Their marriage has been blessed them with two children who are now teenagers.
Prior to her sexual misconduct allegations, Brooke Lajiness shared photos of her husband on social media appreciating him for being her No. 1 fan for almost two decades. Her Her husband is said to be from Dexter.
From the look of things, Brooke Lajiness’ husband seems to be raising their kids alone. There is no sign of Brooke in his Facebook photos.
Brooke Lajiness Allegedly Lured Teens with Nude Pictures
Brooke reportedly started an affair with an underaged boy shortly after he graduated from middle school to high school. The affair which began during the summer was brought to light by one of the mothers of the victim who reported her suspicions to the police.
She was arrested a couple of weeks later following a police investigation. Before she even confessed to having sex with the teen, it was discovered that she started exchanging nude photos with the boy while he was still in middle school.
The mother of two later confessed to sending the teenager Snapchat pictures of herself in the bathtub performing sexual acts. After the pictures, she show up at the boy’s houses at midnight while her husband and kids were fast asleep. At that time, the boys were 14 and 15 respectively. One of the mothers of the boys revealed that Brooke made several arrangements to meet up with her son.
During an interview with the police, Brooke claimed she was only helping the victims. However, she could not explain how she was rendering the help.
Brooke Lajiness Confessed to Having Intercourse with a then 14-year-old and Oral Sex with a 15-year-old
Following her arrest, the former beauty salon worker admitted she had intercourse with one of the boys almost 15 times and oral sex with the other. Reports say the awful events took place in the back seat of her parked car.
Following her arraignment, Brooke pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct for oral sex with a 15-year-old boy, two counts of third-degree criminal conduct for sex with a 14-year-old boy, and one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes, and also one count of furnishing obscenity to children for sending nude photos of herself to a minor.
While parents of the victims insisted that the then 38-year-old mother be treated the same way men who sexually assault girls are treated, Brooke Lajiness was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison on several counts of criminal sexual conduct but she was to spend 57 months instead.
Before she learned of her fate in court, the Chelsea area mom revealed that what she did was the biggest regret of her life.
Aside from sexually assaulting the teens, the investigator of the case claimed that Brooke was cheating on her husband with an adult who was also engaged on Snapchat. However, this was never verified.
As for her victims, one of them suffered psychological and emotional damage so he underwent therapy.
Her Husband Blamed Insomnia for What She Did
Despite what Brooke did her husband stood by her. In her defense, he blamed Brooke’s insomnia in a letter that was submitted to the court. He also added that the insomnia medication might have played a role in her actions.
The letter managed to convince the judge and the court that Brooke had mental health issues. That also contributed to her mild sentence so the 10 other counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed.
Where is Brooke Lajiness Now?
According to Michigan Live, Lajiness was set free on a $50,000 bond. However, she was labeled as a predator and was forbidden from drinking alcohol, taking hard drugs, and surfing on social media. At the time of her release, she was only allowed to go back to her family home in Toledo, Ohio.
Currently 45 years old, Brooke Lajiness is living her life low-key. Since her priority is her two children, she might have lived through her choices and focused on being a better mother to not just her children but also to other children. The soon-to-be grandmother might have become a better person than she was in 2017.
