When it comes to matters of the heart, a lot of people fail to realize when they’ve crossed the line from love to toxicity. Over time, people have been in toxic relationships that turned out to be very bad and ended terribly.

10. Using His Clothes as Rags after the Breakup
A college student named Eliza posted that she once used her exes’ clothes as rags after they broke up.
According to her, their relationship ended 6 months after graduation, and upon that, he returned all the stuff she left at his place hoping to receive the same treatment. Eliza however had a different idea.
Instead of returning her ex-boyfriend’s clothes, she tore them up and used the rags to clean the toilet and floor. Afterward, she threw the rags in the bin.
9. Putting Hair Removal Product into her Ex-boyfriend’s Lube
In a bid to get revenge on her boyfriend who called off the relationship a few days before Christmas, a lady decided to leave a lasting mark on him.
Prior to her revenge, she had taken him back severally after he cheated on her countless times. In spite of her forgiveness, the lady was left heartbroken when her boyfriend broke things up with her during the holidays.
While cleaning up her stuff from the drawer she shared with the ex, she found new condoms and a new lube bought by him, and a bulb lit in her head.
She wanted to let him feel a bit of discomfort like she did when he cheated on her several times.
According to the lady, she thought about messing with the condoms but decided against it because she did not want to hurt an innocent lady. She however settled on messing with the lube he used to mast*bate.
She then added some of her Nair product (hair remover product) to the lube’s content. After this, she left the house, blocked him on all social media and so never knew how anything went down with him.

Recently graduated, this couple’s relationship thrived on the man dictating what she does and does not do even with her money.
Despite making more money, Lindsey (not her original name) figured it was time to change her car but her boyfriend thought it would be a waste of money and she should use the money for ‘more important things’.
The relationship did not last long after that and as soon as she could, she went on to get herself her dream car, took pictures of her and the car, and posted on social media.
On her social media post, Lindsey captioned the pictures: ‘Best form of retail therapy? Buying a new car. #loseaguygainacar. Of course, her ex saw the post and got mad, texted her about how childish she was for putting out their business on social media, and then he went on to block her everywhere.
However, Lindsey wasn’t so bothered because she was only glad to have been rid of a relationship that was controlling and questioned her decisions.
7. No Girlfriend, No House
This particular jilted lover took revenge to a whole new level by ejecting her ex from his house for a week. As soon as he broke up with her, she ran to his house, locked herself in, and called the cops claiming that he was scaring her.
With her clothes and other belongings found in the house, they believed she had the right to be in the house and ordered her ex to find somewhere else to stay.
For a week he was locked out of his house and this serves as one of the evilest break-up aftermaths.
6. Faked a Pregnancy
After a breakup, a woman admitted that she faked a pregnancy to keep the man. She even went as far as borrowing a sonogram from her friend who was pregnant.
According to her tale to her ex, she was supposedly a month pregnant. However, her friend was about 7 months pregnant at the time, fortunately for her, the ex-boyfriend couldn’t tell the difference between a month-old fetus and a 7-month-old developed baby, so he fell for the ‘oldest trick in the book’.
5. Stalked the New Lover
Severally, people have admitted to stalking their ex’s new lovers. While some stalk to keep up with the new relationship, others do so in order to size up the new partner.
One jilted lover confessed to having stalked her ex’s new girlfriend because she wanted to be like her. She eventually became obsessed with the new girlfriend and would always watch her.
This habit got so bad that she tried to do everything the new woman was doing and even learned her activities and hobbies. These were all in a bid to get her ex to love her again and get back with her.
Another lady admitted to having stalked and befriended the new lover in order to sabotage the relationship. She told her ex’s new woman a lot of terrible lies about the ex and this led to an eventual breakup between the ex and his new girlfriend.
Admittedly, some exes also take out their time to stalk their former as well. In cases where he/she hasn’t moved on to a new relationship, they then make it a topmost priority to know the deeds of their ex-lover and also show up at places and events they found out they would be at.

4. Reporting Stories to Family and Friends
A woman narrated the story of how she told lies to her ex’s parents after they broke up. She visited his parents and told them that their son was addicted to drugs such as heroin and cocaine. To make matters worse, she told them that he was ‘dealing’ said drugs in addition to taking them.
Another encounter narrated by a used ex-boyfriend stated that after confirming his girlfriend had cheated on him severally and was only with him for his money, he revealed all her escapades to her friends and family members.
At the end of the day, she was abandoned because her family and friends were disappointed and embarrassed by all her lies and activities. This seems to be quite an extreme thing to do for a relationship that is toxic.
3. Blackmail for Alimony
This isn’t new to break-up stories and we mostly hear the men using different means to blackmail their estranged lovers to get back with them. However, this story has a twist.
A woman confessed to having tricked her ex-husband into having s*x with her again and she had the encounter filmed by a friend. She eventually used the recording against the ex in court in order to make him pay her alimony.
2. “If I Can’t Have You then I’ll Harm You!”
People have gone this route several times and some have gotten away with it. Many a time, the news has carried information of how jilted partners killed or tried to kill their exes because they left them.
Some of the ways these atrocious acts have been carried out are; burning his/her apartment with them inside, attacking him/her with weapons or wild animals, and hiring hit men or assassins to take them out.
This is one extreme way that an ex-lover would show his disapproval of calling the relationship off. If you never thought or realized the relationship was toxic while it lasted, this is a sure indicator that such people were dating their enemies.
1. Self-harm
Top on the list of all sorts of things people do after a bad breakup is self-harm. There are people who break electronics, destroy furniture, damage walls, windows, and doors to apartments, take out the tires of cars, engrave words on the body of their ex’s cars, break the windshield and windows of the car, and even take out the brakes to it.
However, you’d know how toxic a partner is when he/she self-harms. It could be as blackmail to get their ex back with them or just a means to get him/her in trouble.
Many jilted lovers would threaten and attempt suicide just so their partners would pity them and get back with them.
On the other hand, there are those who would literally beat themselves up and harm themselves. They will then accuse their ex-lover of doing so.
One lady threw herself down a flight of stairs and, in the process, incurred several injuries then called the cops and lied that it was her ex who physically abused her.
While this may be a case of a woman who is mentally unstable, one cannot deny the fact that it is quite extreme and is also a very toxic trait.
