- Akmal, an Indonesian teenager in 2018 claimed he laid 20 eggs
- The Gowa native and his family had proof from an X-ray which allegedly showed an egg in his body
- These claims were refuted by doctors, who pointed out that scientifically, it was impossible for humans to lay eggs
An Indonesian teenager named Akmal claimed he laid 20 eggs between 2016 to 2018. While this may sound strange and bizarre, the boy and his family argued that even an X-ray showed he still had an egg in his body. While doctors and experts were skeptical of the claims, Akmal’s father went further to reveal how his son laid 18 eggs in two years and 2 in front of the doctors when he was brought to the hospital.
Due to their claims, the boy was placed in quarantine in the Syekh Yusuf Hospital in Gowa, his hometown, where doctors examined and monitored him.
Akmal Allegedly Started Laying Eggs at the Age of 14
According to reports, Akmal, a resident of South Sulawesi in Gowa Indonesia came into the limelight when his father rushed him to the hospital in August 2015 after he complained of stomach pains. Before then, the family claimed he had already started laying eggs and had laid 7 so far. From that time to 2018, he reportedly laid 20 eggs. His father claimed that when he cracked open the eggs, they appear to be either all yolk or all white.
His father, Rusli revealed that when he cracked the first egg, its content was all yellow and no white. Then a month later, the second was cracked by the boy’s mother, and that one only contained a white substance without yellow. In his defense, Rusli claimed he was an Imam in his village so it was not voodoo.
However, doctors said it was impossible for eggs to form in a human body hence they suspected that the eggs were deliberately shoved into Akwal’s rectum. Akmal’s father denied this claim adding that his son never swallowed eggs at any point.
The Gowa native’s family claimed they had proof from the X-ray which showed that Akmal had an egg in his body. To add to this, the then-14-year-old left doctors puzzled after he laid the last two eggs in their presence. The last egg was analyzed in the lab and it turned out to be chicken eggs.
He was subsequently placed in quarantine in the Syekh Yusuf Hospital in Gowa where the doctors watched and examined him.

Others Who Have Claimed to Lay Eggs Like Akmal
Apparently, the Indonesian boy is not the first to have claimed to lay eggs. A man named Kakek Sinin from Jakarta claimed he could also lay eggs. However, after several tests were carried out on him, it was proven that the eggs were actually chicken eggs.
The Head of the Jarkata Health Agency at that time, Dien Emmawati revealed the eggs were checked at a veterinarian in Bogor and it turned out to be that the eggs were two-week-old chicken eggs. It was also revealed that the eggs were about to hatch at the time of the checking.
Also, there were no signs of abrasion on Sinin’s anus as it should be if he was actually laying eggs. Doctors and specialists later said the man was just hallucinating hence he was incapable of laying an egg, according to them, no human does. Research has shown that only oviparous animals lay eggs while mammals with the exceptions of the duck-billed platypus and spiny anteater, give birth to their young ones.
